Enjoy the luscious harmonies of this “The Parting Glass” arrangement! Once you learn this piece, you won’t want to stop playing it. The piece’s syncopation and free-flowing nature poses a unique challenge for this level, which is something to be aware of if rhythm is not your strong suit. If you learn along with the video course, Carrie will walk you through exercises to master the rhythm and give you tips on how to make the piece sound improvisatory and free. You’ll also learn how to play right-hand harmonics!

I never was able to access the harmonics video so I skipped that part and may add it later.
I struggled with memorizing this piece perhaps because so many sections are so similar and yet different but I live the overall feel bad really do enjoy playing it .

I really loved to learn this song. Thank you Carrie. This is one of my favorite pieces to play now. So beautiful. And it’s special for me because it’s the first song I’ve learned on my new (dream) harp 🙂 .

I have longed for a version of The Parting Glass for years, ever since I heard it performed by The High Kings. Since then I have heard it performed by many groups and solo performers, including our own Community Choir, of which I am a member. There have been many arrangements, at different tempos, but the rhythm has been generally similar. But I am disappointed to see that these are not. I know that arrangers will follow their own artistic impressions and make a piece their own, and I appreciate that, but I am sad that this long-awaited arrangement is not for me.
