Skills learned in this piece include putting hands together, overlapping brackets and cross-unders in the right hand, and playing two notes at once in the left hand. There are no lever changes! Mid-Beginner: (for the Late-Beginner version click here. For the Mid-Intermediate version, click here). The right hand has some overlapping brackets, repeated notes, and a few cross-unders. The left hand is simpler and plays two notes at a time, with mostly one chord per measure. Compared to the other two levels available for this piece, this version is greatly simplified, allowing you to focus on honing your technique and relaxing as you play.

This is a lovely, easy, relaxing piece. At the beginning of the course Carrie said “everyone knows this piece”, however, it must be an age thing as I’ve never heard of it! In any case, it was quick and easy to learn, which I needed as I’ve been working a bit above my ability level. What I really appreciate about Carrie is her modeling excellent technique on every section. I try to copy her hand position as I play, and it helps so much! Thank you..

I pushed through and learned this song at an slow easy pace. Not stressful or stressing at any point. This song is one of those that you can’t get out of your head, so I also felt if I learned it I could put it to rest. Ha-Ha, I found myself humming it at a formal dinner last night. At least everyone enjoyed my singing and humming. Now I am thinking, I’ll have to learn the more advanced version. I hope everyone who attempts to add this song to their repertoire will enjoy it and have as much fun as I have had learning and living with it.
