Hi Kitty, I’m currently studying to be a music therapist in Austria. There are rules and regulations around music therapy, harp therapy, and therapeutic musicians, that vary from country to country. If you’re looking to get an official qualification, it might be best to enrol in a program in your own country. If you’re just planning to play for others in an unofficial capacity, a lot of Christy-Lyn’s existing courses and arrangements are great for that purpose. I’ve played a lot of her late-beginner or early-intermediate pieces for patients in my music therapy internships. I particularly like “Awe and Wonder” and “Fields of Gold”, also “Only Time” and “Hallelujah”. I’d also recommend Christy-Lyn’s workshop on improvisation. The most important part about harp therapy is to be comfortable and relaxed in your playing, because if you’re feeling stressed that can also be stressful for your listeners.
