  • Strings lose perfect tune when sharped

I have a few strings when sharped-that are slightly over sharped when I recheck the tuning of the string. What can I do to correct this problem? Would it help to tighten or loosen that lever? Makes me somewhat nervous to adjust levers!

What type of levers do you have? If they need regulating you can do it yourself but you need the special tools.

    I have a Lyon-Healy Drake harp.

I have been looking around what kind of levers are on the Drake but I could not find any information. But I heard in a review of the Drake that it comes with a tool and a leaflet how to regulate the strings. This should help you because you need special tools for the job. Once you have those it is not so difficult. Josh Layne has done a Youtube video of how to do it. Just search for how to regulate a lever harp. If it is not very much out of tune it is not more difficult than tuning the harp. You just turn a screw.😀
