I consider myself as a Living History Artisan – I actively present living history, while working with 19th Century photographic process to take photos, I hadn’t been to an American civil war reenactment for the last few years. This is last Weekend a Holiday weekend in the United States referenced as Labor Day. I brought my harp with, to play. I instantly drew another reenactors children while amazing other reenactors, who complimented me. – all in all it was a great experience, drawing a lot of questions, with people filming me etc. in a sense I knew it would draw people, But I didn’t expect such a warm reaction. – also I had never really considered or gendered my other instruments, but when the wind blew throw the strings of my harp, causing it to sing, my harp became a she who would sing. one person, who interviewed me for a project they were working on was fascinated by the harp as much as they were fascinated by my camera and the photographic process

How wonderful! Hopefully one day I’ll be comfortable playing in public!

I’ve been playing for my family so that helps.

yes, that definitely helps. – if may, There is many different reasons we carry around with us, and use as to why we can not do something, such as playing in public – the easy answer is that if you want to, that you just do it – people in general will not know anything different. this is a statement that I learned many years ago when doing various public presentations. As far as playing the harp, just relax and enjoy and be in the present, the rest will just happen.
