    Hi harp folks,

do you know and play lullabies on the harp or any other instrument? Or are you singing lullabies with accompaniment on any instrument?
Want to take part in a lullaby-video challenge?
We also want to try to find lullabies Christy-Lyn could make a video lesson of.

We want to collect as many recordings of lullabies from as many different countries as we can get until the end of april, or even a bit earlier.
I hope that many many of you would like and find the time to take part!

    Here’s the full announcement:

We decided to create a playlist of us playing lullabies from around the world for Christy-Lyn. The playlist should be ready latest at the end of april. That means we have about 7 weeks left to compile a playlist.

It would be nice if anyone who wants to take part will record a lullaby from their own country, harp or other instruments or singing and harp or whatever. But if you can’t play one of your country, play and/or sing the one you know. You could submit even more than one recording. You also could record a video with friends and family joining you with voice or other instruments.

If you only can record audios, that will be fine also. You could combine an audio with a nice picture of you to create a video – or you send a picture along with an audiofile so I can make a video out of it with only one picture throughout the whole video.

Please contact me via PN if you’d like to take part. For that you first have to send a request for contact.

Please record the video in landscape-style, not portrait, and try to
create a nice background. Upload the video to YouTube, set it either on
public or unlisted, but not on private. Then send me the link of the video.

It would be good to have as many of the videos in 6 weeks time, deadline will be april 28th.
Creating a playlist is not too time consuming if every participant will load up the video themselves to YouTube.
I just have to combine the videos into a playlist. So that means I could add videos even later – even after we presented the playlist already. That is the good thing about playlists, they can crow continuously.

Hope to get a lot of feedback!

I will gladly join in! My daughter is excited to contribute as well, as she just learned a lullaby on her flute and her birthday is also in May. Thank you for organising this lovely project!

If anyone did already record a video playing a lullaby you also can send me the link of an existing video via PN. I tried to search the activity feed for postings of lullabies, but was not successful at all – except the video posted recently which I had watched before but which had not the word “lullaby” in the message text. So the searching engine didn’t find anything.

    Hi Lydia,

I wanted to mention that Beth’s Notes for music educators (bethsnotesplus.com) has a huge list of lullabies from all over the world. If you join, you can download the lead sheets with chord indications. I just wanted to reference the website because I love lullabies on the harp.

    Blessings,

    Holly

Hi, am I too late for the lullaby challenge? It’s a great idea and I have recorded a video of a lullaby and would love to take part! 🙂
