I’ve been looking at them too. I couldn’t see how long they were or what size of harp they would fit. Also, would they leave a sticky film if you take them off? I would like to see my strings better in some places where the light is dimmer. My iPad has enough light to read the music. I’m looking to get a new lever harp and wondered if I should wait, or if they could be reused?

I just bought my “forever harp” and want to put them on, but was scared. I think I’ll take the plunge.

I got a much cheaper option on amazon for my little 22×2 Fireside doublestrung harp. I did stick them on and they work fine. I don’t think you need to worry about the residue. I didn’t drill into my fireside to install, I just wrapped it around the outside of the neck and used packing tape to tape the little battery case to my soundbox. Here is a youtube video of the lights I used on my DS playing May it Be that Christy Lyn arranged if that helps a t all. https://youtu.be/qhsIFVFaWxg

Thank you for your reply. Number one, your playing is just beautiful! Do you think the lights help you see the strings better? They look so pretty on the harp. I think I will try what you did, and just tape the little light box on the side. Would you be able to show a photo how you did that? Thank you!!!

It is just enough light to see my strings. I was going to be playing at a camping event at night which was why I initially installed them. It does take a little bit of time to adjust so I practiced playing at home with them first!

I bought a stick-on, battery-operated LED strip from Amazon for under $10 USD. The adhesive doesn’t leave residue. I put the battery pack inside with strong, removable, double-sided tape that won’t leave a residue. I have a black Fullsicle, so I used black electrical tape to tape down the strip from the inner curve of the neck, across the soundboard, and around the back. I tested the electrical tape on the back to see if it would harm the finish. Previously, I had to remove a sticker from the back using Goo Gone. The first owner clearly didn’t care about the finish! The lights help me see the strings in my dimly-lit living room at night. I’m using rechargeable batteries.

update on my query: I bought the lights from Music Makers and put them on my harp. They do look pretty and illuminate the strings nicely in low light. However, the adhesive didn’t stick for half the lights, and kept peeling off. I called Music Makers, and they recommend using double sided tape. I’m not sure what that will do to the finish. Hmm. I don’t recommend using these lights ($99) but maybe trying a cheaper option ($10) on amazon.

I have lights under the neck and I just love them! Mine were pre-installed on my Heartland harp – the unit is called Tenergy.

I also have the Heartland Harp lights on my legend, preinstalled, and I use them frequently! Trying to determine if something similar might work on a DHC 32.

      How wonderful, @angela.scoles ! ❤

The lights make a difference – and my audiences think they are pretty cool, too!
