• Grateful for Harp

This is Thanksgiving weekend in the USA. It’s a good time to reflect back over the past year and realize what we are grateful for.

    .

So many people say they wish they had started harp earlier in their lives. Actually, I’m thankful I didn’t discover it before the pandemic. I have really enjoyed learning harp over the past two years, at a time when the distraction was welcome. Harp has brought so much joy into my life.

    .

What do you appreciate about your harp journey?

I’m grateful that I found the harp. It has really brought me peace and joy during the last couple of years. I love it and it’s a great fit for me. I enjoy playing for family but I also enjoy playing just for me.

I found the harp during the Corona pandemic and I’m so happy that I have another wonderful hobby now I can do at my own and at home. It makes me very happy to play and I do it at least for 15 minutes every day. I play only for myself or for family and friends, just for fun and without the intention of playing perfectly.

I am also very grateful to play the harp and it is really never too late to start. And it’s not only fun, but also good for the brain!:

I am very grateful for the people that I met because of the harp. I love playing the harp by myself as a way to meditate, and I also enjoy the friendship that I’ve formed with people because of our shared love for the instrument.

I am grateful, too. I am 69 (birthday on Sunday). I promised myself a long time ago, that before I got too old (!!! I would pick up an instrument. A doctor in my neighborhood took up piano when he retired. He loved it, and he was good at it! I have actually been playing for five years. I still consider myself new to the harp, but love, love, love the learning involved. Thanks to Christy-Lyn I discovered Brook Boddie’s pieces. What a gift to the world he was!
