Double strung harp care questions
Posted by Amanda Barnes on 16 October, 2023 at 8:39 pmDoes anyone have advise on how to dust and polish the soundboard in between the strings of a double strung harp?

I have heard a nice big paintbrush is a popular tool to dust between the strings. I need to get one as mine is super dirty right now from camping for a week!

For maintenance, my harp teacher gave me a large paint brush to clean up my harp. She said to just brush gently around the strings and levers.

I bought a small brush when I got my Fullsicle and use that for my harps.

No need to polish your sound board, just a wipe down will do. I use a soft painters brush about 3″ wide. It does a wonderful job. It’s best not to use water if you spill something use a damp micro cloth to clean it. Never use polish or sprays to clog the pores of your wood, it will eventually hinder the resonance. The paint brush is also good for cleaning around the levers and pegs.
