Nightthunder, I used Sylvia Wood’s book when first learning and ran into the same problem. I think she may assume a lot of students are coming in with a background in piano. I played flute before, so reading bass cleff and two staffs at once was a real challenge and I got stuck. The fact that most of her music didn’t fit properly on my 19 string harp was also not helpful.

I used Betty Paret’s First Harp Book as I just found it a lot more useful than the Sylvia Woods one. It starts from extremely easy exercises and gradually increases in difficulty so you can stay as long as you like on each page until you feel like you’re ready for the next step- I’d highly recommend 🙂 Its also really cheap compared to the others

I also have this warmup booklet from Josh Layne; it is less intimidating than Ailie’s Technique Exercise book hee hee. https://www.joshlayne.com/store/?product=warmup-workshop-video-pdf-booklet
