Anna Chaplaincy,visits to care homes.Devon, UK
I visit the church’s neighbouring Care Home, with our new Anna Chaplain, my good friend. I take my harp and visit the rooms, and play in the sitting room. We also play team crosswords and bingo games with our senior friends and the staff join in as they pass. The residents like to feel the vibrations and strum the strings. It is a delight to see that we can bring smiles in this way. I am not trained as a therapy harpist, but just a church volunteer. Any tips or ideas would be gratefully received.
