This simple arrangement of “Unchained Melody” is a great piece to solidify your basic harp technique while playing a fan favorite. It’s so much fun to play, and although it’s a simplified version, it still captures the flowing atmosphere of the original that we know and love. If you follow along with the Video Course, Carrie will walk you through a highly effective practice method to help you get super comfortable placing each set of notes and help you maintain a good hand position. If you’re new to playing hands together, this is a great piece to practice with!

Difficulty level and Skills Required
Late-Beginner: (Click here for the Early-Intermediate version, and here for the Late-Intermediate version). The right hand plays the melody using fingers 1-2-3. The left hand plays the accompaniment with many 1-2-3 shapes and a few rolled chords. There is a right-hand glissando towards the end of the piece.
Type of Harp
For big and small harps, 22 strings (C-C) or larger.
Range
Lowest note is C, one octave below middle C. Highest note is G, one and a half octaves above middle C.
Levers/Pedals
In the key of C major. No lever changes throughout.
