The song was written by Simon & Garfunkel in 1964, but it’s become a meme in recent years, so it’s still very relevant today! Christy-Lyn’s beginner arrangement has the recognizable melody with a few notes in the left hand to keep the rhythm going. It’s a great choice if you’ve just started learning harp and you want to learn a recognizable song! Mid-beginner (for intermediate version click here). This piece has simple melody in the right hand and mostly single notes with the left hand 2nd finger. The right hand includes all 4 fingers with some overlapping brackets.
Type of Harp
Big and small harps, including 22 string (C to C) and bigger.
Range
Lowest note is D almost an octave below middle C, highest note is B almost 2 octaves above middle C.
Levers/Pedals
It is in the key of G major, with no lever changes. Harps without levers can tune their F strings to F sharps.
