May it Be Course
This is a simple and peaceful version of Enya’s beautiful Lord of the Rings song. Christy-Lyn’s arrangement of “May it Be” includes simple rolled chords in the left hand during the verses, and broken triads during the chorus. There’s not a lot of variation in the left hand, which gives time to focus on playing hands together without stress. If you learn this piece from the Video Course, it’ll help solidify your basic harp technique to set up good habits for the future. You’ll find it surprisingly easy to learn this beautiful, peaceful song!

I couldn’t wait for each lesson of this course! This is a beautiful, haunting arrangement of “May it Be”. I loved learning rolled chords and the dynamics that make this version of Enya’s song so pretty.

I love how I can learn a song so beautiful in my own time… the sequence of the song is perfect! I am learning to read music too, so reading while playing is helping me to learn how to “memorize” the spaces between my fingers… I enjoy the encouraging way Christy-Lyn teaches… very upbeat…. I am still a beginner… been a member since last June of 2021 and must say this has been the best thing I could do for myself… learn to play the harp!

Question about how this song is written out…Could a repeat sign be put in at measure 58? (shortening the number of pages)
I absolutely adore playing this song. It is slow, easy to play and SO beautiful! ..even mistakes sound good….On Mother’s Day I practiced at a park and many folks wandering by stopped to listen (even though I was repeating sections over and over) Also, I felt like a really cool granny playing it for my 12 year old grandsons! This has been the perfect choice to turn into a course. Well done LTH crew!

I love how you dedicated a specific video to rubato and its importance to this song. Introducing music theory and interpretation concepts is really important in our development as harp players. Lovely arrangement. Thank you!

Loved this one, such a beautiful song and nice arrangement! I enjoyed learning something simpler than I’m used to. It helps me quickly build a repertoire for hospice. My preferred level is intermediate, but learning easier music is also rewarding.
