Difficulty Level and Skills Required
Late-Intermediate: (Click here for the Late-Beginner version, and here for the Early-Intermediate version). The right hand plays the melody line embellished with chords underneath, along with a couple of thumb slides and quick placing. The left hand has more challenging cross-unders with 10th intervals, brush muffles, and several lever changes. Both hands do some jumping between registers, and there are many rolled chords and some tempo changes throughout the piece.

Type of Harp
Big harp version is for 33-string harps and larger. Small harp version is for 26 string harps and larger.
Range
For big harps: the lowest note is C, two octaves below middle C. The highest note is G, two and a half octaves above middle C. For small harps: the lowest note is C, one octave below middle C. The highest note is G, two and a half octaves above middle C.
Levers/Pedals
In the key of C major. There are a couple of F lever changes throughout.

I loved learning this piece, and enjoy Carrie’s calm and through method of teaching. I still need to work on the octaves in section E for the small harp, to play them smoothly, but look forward to the challenge.

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to play on Good Friday for featuring my harp (I’m already playing violin and viola) and what a wonderful discovery to find this very full and (doable)late intermediate arrangement!!
