Harp Beginnings 1
From absolute beginner to playing beautiful harp music in 6 weeks!

Main Focus
Build a strong foundation in harp technique, learn your first 3 songs and how to play from chord sheets.
Perfect For
Absolute beginners or those returning from a break who want to start at the beginning again. Great for fixing bad habits and building good technique.

- The Water is Wide (Folk / Hymn)
- Mahogany Moon (Original)
- Greensleeves (Celtic / Christmas)

- How to play from chords

Who is teaching this program?
3 Song Courses and a Chords Workshop taught by Carrie and Christy-Lyn.

Early-Intermediate Foundations
Develop the core skills that make early-intermediate harp music feel achievable

- Thursdays, 2-3pm EDT

Previous Knowledge Required
You should be playing well at a Late-Beginner level, including applying bracketing, basic knowledge of rhythm, hands-together.
Main Focus
Build the core harp technique you need to move from late-beginner to early-intermediate harp music.
Perfect For
Late-Beginner players who need help to graduate to Early-Intermediate, and Early-Intermediate players who want help to conquer the level.

Excerpts from:
- Bridge Over Troubled Water (Folk)
- Beauty and the Beast (Pop / Film / Disney)

- Technique adjustments for intermediate playing
- Tricky rhythms
- Complex placing
- Early-intermediate chord shapes

- Stacking skills without mental overload

Unlocking Music Theory
Overcome confusion and understand music theory in a way that’s practical and useful in your real harp playing.
- July 22 – Sept 16, 2026 (9 weeks)
- Wednesdays, 2-3pm EDT

Previous Knowledge Required
You should have either already completed Unlocking Sheet Music, or have a good grasp of the following concepts:
- Reading notes on the treble and bass clefs
- Understanding basic rhythm values, rests, measures, and time signatures
- Knowing how sharps, flats, and naturals work
- Following basic music notation, symbols, and markings in a piece of harp music
Main Focus
Learn how music works behind the notes, so scales, keys, chords and musical patterns start to make sense.
Perfect For
Students who are comfortable playing Early-Intermediate pieces and up, who feel confident in their basic playing technique and are ready to branch out.

This program is not focused on songs

- Tonic, scales, keys
- Circle of fifths and key signatures
- Chords and chord progressions

We recommend choosing one program at a time. Each program is designed to be a complete and focused learning experience, allowing you to make meaningful progress without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
If you decide in Week 1 that you would prefer to do one of the other programs, please contact us at [email protected] and we’ll do our best to help! Transferring to another program does mean catching up on some of the content you have missed, so do your best to make a choice you’re happy with now.

No problem! All the sessions will be recorded so you can watch them in your own time. The recordings will be uploaded soon after the live session so that you can keep up with the weeks and participate with the rest of the class.
