Difficulty level & Skills required

Early-Intermediate: It consists of a melody in the right hand with accompaniment in the left hand. The left hand includes two-note chords and single notes; never more than three in a measure. There is some syncopation in the right hand, but repetition of sections means that it is easier to learn. All 4 fingers are used and complex overlapping brackets are included

I love the bite-size approach and the repetitions. It works well for me. I am confident with my finger placement for the beautiful song. I can’t believe that I can play You Raised me up.

Ditto what Jay M. R. says. I like the bite-size approach, as well 🙂 I can concentrate on learning each segment and repeat, repeat, repeat until I get it down. Then I can go back and tie it all together. Thank you, Christy-Lyn.

Great for placement, rolling chords work.

Lovely tune, very well taught by Christy-Lyn. I find it particularly helpful for placement practice — close finger work and lower notes means a tendency to buzz the strings, and this gives you a lot of work on that. Also a great practice for rolling chords — these are actually pretty easy considering they use both hands, and they lend a terrific effect to the piece. Beautiful, and impressive when you can play it!
