The Prayer sheet music is no longer available through the licensing platform that we use. This is beyond our control. They are contractually obligated to remove titles when they lose the rights. It was removed on 7 November, after our course was released. It is possible to learn the course without the sheet music, but we’re hoping the copyright will be available again in the near future.

“The Prayer” is a very well-known song that really suits the peaceful atmosphere of the harp. You’ll feel proud to be able to play such a lovely tune! Skills learned in this piece include complex overlapping brackets, crossing under with the right hand, fast placing of 4-finger chords, and musical expression such as dynamics and tempo changes. Thankfully there are no lever changes! If you learn this piece with the Video Course, you’ll get a step-by-step guide on how to practice the piece effectively, with reminders of good harp technique such as how to place correctly.

    A perfect course

This is a great course! It is a lovely long tune, with good practice on several techniques (4-finger playing, 1-5-8 chords, crossovers, etc.), so you definitely learn. Christy-Lyn explains everything beautifully and demonstrates thoroughly. I particularly liked her advice on how to play with feeling and expression (rubato). She worked very hard on this course, and it shows. Two points you should know — sheet music is not available (no fault of LTH), so if like me you need it as a crutch, you will have to write it out yourself. Actually this is pretty easy — a bit time consuming, but easy — because CL tells you all the notes (“OK, in this section the right hand plays b-c-d-c…”) — just replay until you get it. The other point is the structure of the course — I was not accustomed to it, and thought the first part of Section A was rushed and way too hard, goes too fast, etc. Then I realized the first lesson in each section as predominantly a demonstration. The second part of the section is where you go in-depth into how to play the song. Bottom line — definitely one for the repertoire; easy to remember; fun to play, feels good under the fingers, and very impressive! Loved it!

I loved this arrangement! “The Prayer” is one of my favorite songs, and I really appreciated how you helped us achieve musicality and expression in this course.
