    Wonderful workshop

Thank you for a wonderful “sing with your harp” workshop. Although my high notes are somewhat startling at 7 a.m., I learned so much. I feel that I now have “permission” (after a lifetime of classical training) for my harp accompaniments to be simpler. Simple can be truly beautiful!

fun and helpful harp and singing workshop

This was great. It really helped me to be confident of making my own arrangements to songs I want to sing. Christy-Lyn is a terrific teacher. She explains everything really well, and I liked the fact that it started simply and built up. Also, though I play piano, I have always read the music so not been concerned with chords, and this workshop helped me to understand chords better and I seemed to then play the accompaniment to the songs much more easily. My only regret is that as I live in Australia I can’t do these workshops live! 1 a.m. is a bit late to concentrate.

    Harp Singing Workshop- Whoo!

This was a wonderful and informative workshop. I like that you kept it simple but showed us what we could work up to. I would love more workshops along this line. I have never done singing but am interested at least for myself. I would love the confidence to play and sing publicly but get so nervous just playing sometimes. Something to work up to!

Great introduction to singing and harping

Enjoyed this introduction workshop and gave me other ideas on how to accompany myself with the harp whilst singing. Would stress that it is a beginner’s course and I would certainly be interested in a more advanced course looking at intros and endings and more variations. Would recommend printing out handouts before watching the course as well as at one point the music (chords and words) are not displaced on the screen. Would also recommend downloading it over streaming as the buffeting meant that the rhythm kept getting interrupted. A good fun course though which will certainly open up a whole load of new possibilities as singing a tune is a lot easier than trying to play it on a harp.

I went to the workshop when I was pushed for time, originally, but have now just revisited the recording. I took the time to read over the hand outs and replay the lessons with time for a cup of tea in the middle. Just wonerful. I loved it. I have been playing tunes, but feeling quietly frustrated because I want to sing. I have tried a few things in the past but always felt it was cheating and not really proper harp playing. Now I know some of the things I do sre actually O.K! Also I now have masses of tools to make things sound less boring!!

I found the variations really helpful for starting to accompany singing.

It was a lovely course but I was looking for something a little more complex. I am working on Christy-Lyn’s mid- inter stages of songs at the moment. But she said some useful things.
