This arrangement sounds classic and everyone will recognise it, but it also has some wonderful interest for intermediate players: 7th chords which give a slightly jazzy harmony and a few unexpected notes that perk up your ears. It’s great for intermediate harpists and advanced harpists who have limited time, because it sits well under the fingers and feels relatively easy to play, but sounds lush and interesting.

Difficulty level & Skills required
Mid-Intermediate: The left hand accompaniment is complex and varied, including long series of overlapping brackets using all the fingers, and it moves around a lot. The right hand plays the melody with lots overlapping brackets and sometimes a rolled chord for emphasis.
Type of Harp
Lever or pedal harp. 33 string harp or bigger.
Range
Lowest note is G, one and a half octaves below middle C. Highest note is B one and a half octaves above middle C.
Levers/Pedals
It is in the key of G (with F levers). No lever changes are included.

I enjoyed learning this much more than I thought. My Dad requested it, and I thought I would get tired of hearing it through all the practice, but in the end, I can now play this challenging piece and it sounds better every time. I loved this arrangement much more than all the other versions I’ve heard – such beautiful harmonies! – so it was worth it! So glad I didn’t give up. And of course, Christy-Lyn made practicing it so much easier! I never would have attempted this without the course to guide me. Now to try to get a recording without mistakes, lol! Also, I feel like this is much more challenging than Inisheer mid-intermediate, but maybe it’s because I am already familiar with playing the melody on that one.
