If you listen carefully to the lyrics in the original recording by Simon & Garfunkel, this song pulls on your heart strings as it refers to self-sacrificial love when you need it the most. This is a song that we as harp players can play for others to bring them peace and to show them love through music. Christy-Lyn’s arrangement brings in some of the interesting chords that make this song unique, while limiting the lever changes to only the most necessary ones. The melody and left hand accompaniment are quite simple but still bring across the emotions of the song.

Great song! I thought I was at early intermediate but I’m dropping back down to late beginner. I just chose, Hallelujah! I am going to keep working on my Bridge over trouble; but need a breather so I’m going to begin this one!

I did not think I would be able to do those lever changes, but learning one section at a time really does work!

Well I finally finished it, It was a tough one for me. It seems like the order of difficulty might vary for everyone. I have done some lessons that were identified as harder according to you list that I found easier. But it was worth the work. It seems like ones with lever changes present more of a challenge for me.

It is amazing how easy it is to learn the harp. The division of the songs into pieces makes learning easy. Also, with the technology if I miss what you say; there is rewind.
Thank you!

This piece is a great rhythm challenge so I really wore out your “with counting” segments. Also, changing levers have been difficult for me. But with your instruction I am gaining confidence in these skills….though I finished the course I have lots of ‘spots’ to smooth out by using your play along session. Thanks for helping me improve my skill level and being so positive and thorough. Have a blessed day!
