“After the Rain” is written to sound like water dripping off the trees from a much-needed rain here in Cape Town, South Africa. It’s very simple but sounds really peaceful and lovely. It’s a great piece to work on basic technique while playing something that sounds good.

Difficulty level & Skills required
Early-Beginner: The right and left hand share the melody, and each hand never has more than two notes per bar. The melody is a repeating pattern that you will become familiar with. Only fingers 1 and 2 are used.
Type of Harp
Lever harps: 15 string harps (C to C) and larger.
Range
Lowest note is middle C. Highest note is G, an octave and a half above middle C.
Levers/Pedals
The piece is in the key of C. No levers are needed.

This is a great course for beginners and more advanced students alike. The song is quite pretty to listen to. My one complaint is that the full speed play-though gives the student no time at all to place – you have to have already placed your right hand to be ready to play immediately.
