Beginner Harp and Voice in G major

Traditional, arranged by Christy-Lyn Marais. 2 pages. PDF download.

Playable on almost any size of harp, including lever harps tuned in C or Eb major. Fingering is marked throughout the harp part. Make sure you grasp the fingering, because it sets you up to play the piece more easily! The chords are written above each bar to facilitate a trio with voice, harp and guitar. There are no lever changes during this piece.

This easy version of Silent Night is the perfect introduction to singing and playing! The harp part is simple enough to concentrate on the coordination of singing and playing at the same time, but interesting enough to make it fun. For advanced-beginner harpists the accompaniment will take a little bit of practice, but for intermediate harpists the accompaniment should be easy enough to whip up in time for Christmas with very little practice.

Try this as an accompaniment with your family singing together around the Christmas tree. It’s such fun!
