I have the same problem and have been thinking about it for a long time. It is possible to put the harp on all sort of boxes. I tried out several from different matierials. The box changes the sound, mainly makes it louder. The problem I have with a box is that I have to take the wooden support away that stops it from falling. So the harp moves slightly while playing.
So my favorit solucion up to know is putting the harp on a chair. It works well but not for outdoors. I have been looking for camera tripods but they are to high or not sturdy enough.
Because I have an old one lying around I plan to take a saw and shorten it and try to make a harpstand out of it. It should be easy to buy a second hand tripod cheap.
Another idear I have is using a foldable hight achastable kids drummerstool.
