I used a small adjustable wrench once after padding the tuning pegs with a light cloth. But it wasn’t easy and not a very good solution. I was very worried about damaging the pegs and wood with the wrench. But the light wash cloth protected them. I have a spare tuning key now. I hope someone else has a better idea!
