I am new to this side and to playing the harp. There are some wounderful pieces I would love to learn but lots of them are for harps with at least 26 strings while mine only has 23 strings. Is there a way to adapt the pieces? Or could you add some more for samller harps. Thanks

Hi – I have a 26 string harp, with more low notes than high notes. You can play most pieces, but you have to be prepared to move things around a bit. Change octaves, invert chords, or even leave out a few notes. I like a small harp, because it is very portable. But you do have to make changes. If you analyze your piece creatively, you can figure out what to do with it to make it work. Good luck with it. Go for it.

Thanks, I hope I will eventually be able to do that but at the moment I would find it easier to learn the piece as in the lession. If its only a couple of notes I have to adjust that would be fine, but I would not know that before buying the lession. Or can I see the sheet music before I buy?

Not on this site or by this person, but if you’re looking for music for small lap harps, Marianne Bouvette has arranged quite a lot of pieces, many of which she offers for free. I particularly like her Breton March, which is offered for free arranged for 19 string harp. https://www.mariannebouvettemusic.com/sheet-music

Thanks, thats a great link. Beautiful pieces. But for now I need instructions with it on how to play it. I would like to buy one of the courses from here but not sure which one is suitable for me and the once I like the pieces best are for bigger harps.

I have purchased and learned several of the pieces put together by Anne Crosby Gaudet. They are good. She also has a few tutorials for some of the pieces for free on YouTube. Good compliment to Christy-Lyn’s offerings.
