Hi all, I am wondering if anyone could share with me a bit more about various Harp Therapy Programs and comparisons, how do you develop after the Program and continue with volunteer work and paid work in this area, and paid opportunities after the Program? I am very motivated by the idea of harp therapy, and helping people in need sounds very rewarding to me. I have looked up briefly that there is International Harp Therapy Program in Hong Kong, but not a lot of information about other suitable program for comparison. It is not easy to find relevant reviews too. Since I am based in Asia, probably online program without travelling to other countries would be a possible option? I am learning intermediate songs on the platform now but I don’t have a music background/education – not sure if this would be an issue.

Your sharing and insights are much appreciated and thanks in advance.

I’m a graduate of the Bedside Harp program. I don’t have a lot of time right now to provide details but I will tell you that you can do the entire program on line (they have trained international students in the past) and you have access to a lot of mentoring. I gradated about 15 years ago and have worked (paid) in the field since that time. I was well prepared when I graduated – there is a lot of classroom work and mentored internships in the training.

Here’s the link to the program. You can email Edie Elkan, the founder of the program, and she’d be very happy to speak with you on the phone, zoom, etc, or answer emails and provide the details. The training was thorough and intense but well worth it.
