After the Rain (Video Lesson)

"After the Rain" is written to sound like water dripping off the trees from a much-needed rain here in Cape Town, South Africa. After a long period of drought it is such a relief to have the beautiful rain!

In this 25 minute video lesson, Christy-Lyn breaks the piece down, teaches you how to apply important techniques and how to practice the piece until you can play it fluently.

Purchase the sheet music and video lesson together (link below) and follow along while Christy-Lyn teaches you.

Level: Early beginner harp piece (for comparison to other pieces, go here)

Skills needed: You should be comfortable with using fingers 1 and 2 before trying this piece. This piece is ideal to work on basic bracketing (placing before playing).

Type of harp: lever harps, including lap harps.

Key: C Major (no sharps or flats). No pedal or lever changes are included.

Product: 25 minute instructional video lesson, available for download or streaming.

Sheet Music (PDF download) is available in bundle.

NOTE: This video lesson is not intended to teach you basic harp technique from scratch. Please use this lesson in conjunction with a good method book. I recommend Pamela Bruner's Play the Harp Beautifully (you need to be up to Pg 29 for this piece).
